The Process
Getting to know each other:
Fill out the application and book a FREE call. This first step is where we decide if I’m the right coach/co-conspirator for you and start to talk about where you’d like to go and how I can help you get there.
Assessment
A deep dive into where you are right now. From the big picture, real life environment you exist in; to the nitty gritty details of strengths, weaknesses and myofascial patterning, we will look at it all. Specific assessments will depend on the individual but typically include qualitative and quantitative movement assessments, postural assessments and sport/athletic specific work.
Goals:
The big, the small and the scary. Alongside the assessment process, we will start to develop some goals and guidelines of what you truly want to work towards.
Getting shit done:
The bulk of our time together is spent in this phase! Reconstructing, building, strengthening and creating the components of your practice that best serve you, your environment and your goals.
There will be hard work, new challenges, fun, and real life ups and downs.
Through it all you will have my unwavering support as a coach, co conspirator, and collaborator, helping you beef up your resiliency, consistency and self compassion. Three key skills needed for longevity in anything!
Testimonials
"I have never met anyone else better at caring for living things"
- Rachel Strickland
"Working with Sidonie has increased not only my skill level, but my longevity as an Aerialist. I not only learned new moves, new progressions, new techniques and new ways of moving but most importantly proper care for my body and an overall greater awareness of my body in space. Working with Sidonie helped me to better know how to take care of myself and create more targeted and effective aerial warm ups and cool downs to prevent and avoid injury."
- Samara V.R. Aerialist and Stunt Performer
"Sido guided me through the biggest transition of my life...childbirth. Woah baby is right! She not only helped this stunt-woman’s body prepare birth, she built a program and supported my crazy mom-brain through a recovery process that saw my body functioning better than it did before I got knocked up. Sido is a rockstar!"
Andrea Ross, Stunt performer
"I reached out to Sido because I was about to leave Montreal for a place with far fewer opportunities to train and work, and realised that if I wasn’t confident in at least the structure of my training, those challenges may prove insurmountable. I had this giant, nebulous goal of “restructuring my practice”, plus the desire to create a new act to present when I arrived back home.
She brought an attentive outside eye to my act that allowed me to re-shape it, create new transitions, and slather on a layer of polish that I otherwise never would have known how to make the time for.
But maybe even more importantly, she helped me restore trust in my process by making me take the ideas out of my head and turn them into real boxes to fill (and permission to walk away if they weren’t working).
She helped me uncover implicit logic that was already lurking in my practice, gave me some creative tools to help me get out of some of the ruts I felt stuck in, and gave me some tangible and incremental steps to work towards some of my more technical goals.
This makes getting to the studio for 8am possible, because that’s simply not the kind of planning and negotiating I can do with myself before the coffee hits. "
Keely W, Aerialist
Who its for:
Thrive is for performing artists, creatives, and other outside-of-the-box athletes of all levels who are ready to work hard, rest hard and build a relationship with training that is healthy, powerful and nourishing.
You’re the expert here, whether you know it or not. Through my 20+ years of coaching I have never once met a student who wasn’t an expert in their own body once they learned to listen to it. My goal as your coach is to help you do just that: to listen, to act on the things you already know and to introduce new possibilities when needed.

FAQs
-

-
Yes, monthly payment plans are available
-
-
I want to learn aerial work from you, does this include any technical aerial training?
-
No, this is not an aerial training mentorship, this is a whole body, performance and health mentorship. The training we do together will be largely ground, and gym based, depending on what you have access to. Thrive will help you get your aerial goals faster and safer and understand how to structure your training best for your body. However, I will not be teaching any aerial tricks/technique. The one exception is as an occasional artistic eye, if you happen to be developing an act.
-
I do offer in-person aerial coaching in Vancouver, or as a guest instructor for workshops in other locations. If you'd like to learn more please contact me
-
-
What do I need to have access to?
-
A training area of any kind, this is a highly individualized program so we will work with what you have readily available. Helpful props are: bands, massage balls, yoga blocks, a step stool, a clear wall, some dumbbells.
-
-
I am injured, can I work with you?
-
Yes and no, it really depends on the severity of the injury and where you are at in the healing process. I recommend filling out the application and booking a call. I will be 100% open about my scope and whether now is the right time to make this investment with me.
-
-
I have a chronic condition/illness can I work with you?
-
Similar to the above, I have (and currently do) work with people living with cancer, EDS/hypermobility, POTS, ME/CFS and neurological conditions. However, a trainer and coach is not always the right investment so please apply, book a call and we can discuss what could work.
